On Monday, August 17, our lives changed forever. At 3:16 a.m., 9 hours after Kate's water broke while washing dishes, Olive emerged into the world with a healthy howl (a skill she continues to hone). Though 9 hours sounds like a long time, Kate's labor was fast and furious, and we were holding our daughter before we knew it. Weighing 8 lbs, 2 ozs and measuring 20 3/4 inches, Olive is a perfect, healthy baby girl.
The three of us spent two nights at the hospital, and we've now spent two nights at home. This is such a magical time, truly beyond description.
